Collection: California Classics Hardwood Floor Vents

California Classics engineered hardwood runs 9/16 inch thick depending on the line. The vent is what's left once the boards are down, and on a wood floor it shows. Request a quote with your color and duct sizes and we'll match it.

Getting the fit right

The 4 mm (Mediterranean) wear layer on California Classics leaves room for future sanding. Worth planning for: if the floor gets refinished, the vent should be part of the conversation, so tell us up front.

California Classics sits at 9/16 inch, which is a good deal thicker than most vinyl plank. A flush vent has to land level with the top of the boards, so measure a spare piece with a tape or caliper and put that on the quote request.

Engineered hardwood can be nailed, glued or floated, and California Classics is no different from line to line. A nailed floor stays put around the register hole; a floating one moves a hair with humidity. Either way, the measurement we need is the opening.

California Classics vent questions

How thick is California Classics flooring?

9/16 inch, per the manufacturer. Measure a spare board to be sure, since lines differ.

Where do I find my California Classics color name?

The carton label lists the collection and color. Your installer's invoice usually has it too.

Which vent sizes work with California Classics hardwood?

We make hardwood floor vents in 2x10, 2x12, 2x14, 4x10, 4x12, 4x14, 6x10, 6x12 and 6x14 inches; returns in 6x20, 6x24, 6x30, 6x36, 8x20, 8x24, 8x30 and 8x36 inches. Measure the opening in the floor to pick yours.

What if I refinish my California Classics floor later?

Tell us when you request the quote. We'll talk through how the vent face fits into a future sand and refinish.

My California Classics floor is a few years old. Does that matter?

Wood mellows with light, so an older California Classics floor may not match a new sample. Keep a spare board from your own install if you have one.
