Things to know before you order
Tongue-and-groove floors like DuChateau are usually nailed, stapled or glued to the subfloor. That gives the installer a firm edge to cut the register hole into, and a flush vent can sit in that cut with nothing standing proud of the boards.
European oak boards like DuChateau's have long, quiet grain with open knots in rustic grades. That grain is easy to spot next to a steel register, and easy to lose in a flush vent built to match.
The 3.5 to 4 mm wear layer on DuChateau leaves room for future sanding. Worth planning for: if the floor gets refinished, the vent should be part of the conversation, so tell us up front.
DuChateau vent questions
How thick is DuChateau flooring?
9/16 to 5/8 inch, per the manufacturer. Measure a spare board to be sure, since lines differ.
Does it matter whether my DuChateau floor is click or tongue-and-groove?
Not for the vent sizes. It does help us picture the opening, so mention it in your quote request.
What if I refinish my DuChateau floor later?
Tell us when you request the quote. We'll talk through how the vent face fits into a future sand and refinish.
Why is there no price on the DuChateau vent?
Hardwood vents are quoted per job for now. Send your sizes, the collection and the color, and we will reply with a price.
My DuChateau floor is a few years old. Does that matter?
Wood mellows with light, so an older DuChateau floor may not match a new sample. Keep a spare board from your own install if you have one.
