Details that matter on a wood floor

LifeProof locks together edge to edge and floats, so the whole floor moves a little with the seasons. Installers normally leave some room around fixed openings. Give us the size of the hole as it was cut, not the size of the old register, so the vent fits what is actually in your floor.

LifeProof uses a thinner 1.2 mm veneer on some lines. Floors like that are usually screened and recoated rather than sanded deep, so the color you have now is the color the vent should match for years.

LifeProof sits at 7 mm, which is a good deal thicker than most vinyl plank. A flush vent has to land level with the top of the boards, so measure a spare piece with a tape or caliper and put that on the quote request.

LifeProof belongs to The Home Depot, so you won't find it at an independent dealer. Your receipt or the carton label has the color name and item number we need.

Not for the vent sizes. It does help us picture the opening, so mention it in your quote request.

Which vent sizes work with LifeProof hardwood?

We make hardwood floor vents in 2x10, 2x12, 2x14, 4x10, 4x12, 4x14, 6x10, 6x12 and 6x14 inches; returns in 6x20, 6x24, 6x30, 6x36, 8x20, 8x24, 8x30 and 8x36 inches. Measure the opening in the floor to pick yours.

My LifeProof floor is a few years old. Does that matter?

Wood mellows with light, so an older LifeProof floor may not match a new sample. Keep a spare board from your own install if you have one.

Why is there no price on the LifeProof vent?

Hardwood vents are quoted per job for now. Send your sizes, the collection and the color, and we will reply with a price.

How thick is LifeProof flooring?
