Getting the fit right

Monarch Plank lists a 4 to 6 mm wear layer. A wear layer that thick usually means the floor can be sanded and refinished later. If a refinish is on the calendar, mention it in your quote request so we can talk through how the vent face fits into that.

Monarch Plank sits at 5/8 inch (some 3/4 inch), which is a good deal thicker than most vinyl plank. A flush vent has to land level with the top of the boards, so measure a spare piece with a tape or caliper and put that on the quote request.

Measure the hole in the floor, not the old register. Register covers overlap the opening, so the cover size is always bigger than the duct.
