Details that matter on a wood floor

Installers can put Provenza down by glue-down, staple or float. Whatever was used in your house, the vent drops into the opening from above, so we just need the hole size and how thick the boards are.

European oak boards like Provenza's have long, quiet grain with open knots in rustic grades. That grain is easy to spot next to a steel register, and easy to lose in a flush vent built to match.

Smoked and carbonized finishes, like Old World's, change the color of the wood itself. That depth of tone is hard to fake, which is why a vent matched to the actual collection reads better than a painted cover.

A wire-brushed surface catches light differently than a smooth one. A painted steel register stands out against that grain, while a flush vent made for the floor keeps the texture running through the room.

Provenza vent questions

How much does a Provenza hardwood vent cost?

It depends on the sizes and how many you need, so we quote each Provenza job. Use the quote button above.

How thick is Provenza flooring?

9/16 to 5/8 inch, per the manufacturer. Measure a spare board to be sure, since lines differ.

Which vent sizes work with Provenza hardwood?

We make hardwood floor vents in 2x10, 2x12, 2x14, 4x10, 4x12, 4x14, 6x10, 6x12 and 6x14 inches; returns in 6x20, 6x24, 6x30, 6x36, 8x20, 8x24, 8x30 and 8x36 inches. Measure the opening in the floor to pick yours.

Where do I find my Provenza color name?

The carton label lists the collection and color. Your installer's invoice usually has it too.

Can you match a Provenza floor that went in years ago?

Usually, yes. A leftover board from the original install helps most, because finishes change with age and sunlight.
