If you've searched for Perfect Vents reviews or a Perfect Vents alternative, you probably already like the idea of a floor vent cut from your own planks. Both companies do that. The real difference is how you buy, and what each one publishes before you commit.
Dealer network or direct order
Perfect Vents sells through a nationwide network of professionals, and points homeowners to a dealer locator. If there's no local store, it says your flooring retailer can contact them to coordinate the order. That suits people already working with an installer who handles the details.
Vents.com sells direct. Prices for LVP vents are on the product page ($135 to $190 depending on size), and matching cold air returns start at $363. You can order without going through a store, then send your flooring in.

How each one holds the vent in place
Perfect Vents builds embedded magnets into the vent, which attach to a metal support plate. The company holds two U.S. patents for this system and says it's engineered for floating floors, with no nails, screws or adhesive. Its FAQ also explains that the plate slides under the floor so you can lift the cover and clean the duct.
Vents.com vents are built on a metal backer and use magnets for airflow. We test strength with a 2-inch puck, and the vent held 1,200 lb in that test. Perfect Vents doesn't publish a pound rating that we could find, so we can't compare those numbers directly.
Where Perfect Vents comes out ahead
Perfect Vents publishes a turnaround of 3 to 5 business days after it receives the order and materials, sends a prepaid label for your flooring, and tells you exactly how much to send: about 16 inches per vent plus a spare piece or two. Those are useful details, and the patented floating mount is a real option for floating floors.
